🎉We are thrilled to reflect on our immersive experience at the #EHFG in Gastein, where we explored public health challenges and illuminated discourses on EU solidarity across various dynamic panels and conversations!🚀Following our session with IANPHI #Partnerships, we would like to express our gratitude to our esteemed speakers and rapporteur, Quentin D. Sandifer OBE, for bringing forward critical reflections and leaving us with thought-provoking takeaways to ponder upon!🔍Some key takeaways:Trygve Ottersen gave an enlightening keynote on challenges and facilitators to partnerships in public health🤝and unspoken issues were addressed #elephantsintheroomPanos Tsakloglou highlighted the vital role of quantitative evidence in advocating health investments in other sectors, which was then juxtaposed with a compelling need to navigate the political nuances of policymaking.Concerning law and policymaking, Anniek de Ruijter emphasized, “In the end, you need to make a choice, and it’s always political.”From the lens of civil society NGOs, Sabine Kampmueller highlighted:1️⃣The innovation that Civil Society NGOs bring by driving and implementing pioneering projects and addressing current challenges with sustainable funding.2️⃣The agility of NGOs in providing real-time insights on issues and needs in different societal groups, especially during crises like the pandemic.📢Dive deeper via the session recording at:https://lnkd.in/dG_iwa6D🔗#publichealth #cooperations #HealthForAllPolicies #partnershipsFoto: Framez

Following a record number of abstracts submitted, the full program for the global event, the Evidence and Implementation Summit (EIS) 2023, will soon be released.EIS2023, 9-11 October, will share the latest advances, case-studies and results across more than 200 presentations and 70 hours of professional development. Early bird registrations are now open for in-person and virtual attendance. There are also limited places now available for two pre-summit workshops, focused on #implementation fundamentals for service improvement and hybrid studies in implementation #research.Workshop A:‘Hybrid’ studies in implementation research: What they are and why, when, and how to use themPresented by: - Professor Aron Shlonsky, Head of Department (Social Work), Monash University School of Primary and Allied Health Care, Australia- Professor Nick Sevdalis, Centre for Behavioural and Implementation Science Interventions (BISI), Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine,National University of SingaporeTraditional #evaluation that only measures effectiveness outcomes can be uninformative and potentially misleading because they do not adequately consider or test whether interventions were implemented well, nor do they test specific implementation strategies. Hybrid studies (Curran & colleagues, 2012; 2022) incorporate methods that simultaneously measure both implementation and effectiveness.Workshop B:Implementation fundamentals for service improvementPresented by:- Jane Lewis, Managing Director for UK & Europe, Centre for Evidence and Implementation- Dr Melinda Polimeni, Director, Australia, Centre for Evidence and ImplementationThis workshop is aimed at professionals working toward #evidence-informed policies, programs or services in the #HumanServices field - whether working within #government or with service delivery agencies.Presenters will give an overview of how implementation frameworks can be useful tools for guiding real-world implementation efforts, how to select and utilise 'best-bet' implementation strategies, and how to use data to support decision making and hone implementation strategies to address barriers.EIS 2023 brings together #policymakers, #researchers, implementation scientists, program evaluators, #practitioners, academics and organisation leaders, with global experts, to debate how we can best apply high-quality evidence to create more effective policy and programs – with the power to improve outcomes for individuals and families. With more and more people facing #adversity, closing the ‘know-do’ gap has never been more important or urgent.EIS 2023 is co-hosted by CEI, Monash University, and the National University of Singapore’s Centre for Behavioural and Implementation Science Interventions (BISI).

🎉Event wrap-up 🎉OPEN recently held a forum that highlighted OPEN and Children Australia's shared learnings and tips in building everyday evidence use, the importance of evidence and how to use the existing evidence base. The forum was well received, with participants highlighting some key takeaways: 📌The supports available to implement a culture of evidence and research design 📌Everyday evaluation and ways to think about measuring what matters 📌Evaluating early in the process, not leaving it until the end of the project/task📌Evaluating during a project rather than waiting till the end. This is very critical. If you missed this webinar you can watch the recording here: https://lnkd.in/g94zZCE9 This session highlighted how child and family services have become an evidence-driven sector and demonstrated ways in which practitioners and organisations can develop, use and communicate evidence to inform their service delivery and practice, ensuring better outcomes for children, families and young people.

🌟 It all starts tomorrow, with Dr Henry Pharo! 🌟 💡 Dr Henry Pharois theDirector of the Early Intervention Research Directoratewithin theDepartment of Human Services, South Australia.Henry is a clinical psychologist with a strong interest in evidence-based practice and informing public policy. The Child Protection system in South Australia is facing unprecedented pressure and demand – in addition to further investment in tertiary services, there is an urgent and pressing need for government to be able to direct investment towards evidence-based early intervention services if we are to create a sustainable solution for this escalating problem. The South Australian Early Intervention Research Directorate (EIRD) was created to establish an evidence base for early intervention family support services. This presentation will provide an overview of the system reform that EIRD has undertaken, and the creation of a new cross-government linked data infrastructure. 🎟 Join us tomorrow at the OPEN Symposium 2023.
