I have to say 👏 👏 👏 👏 to the NIHR (National Institute for Health and Care Research) in supporting and extending public health research into understanding the health impact of planning and housing systems and levers. I am pleased to see this funding call on Developer Contributions (24/30 Developer contributions). Deadline 9 August 2024.We know from the latest (but old) Government research that the value of planning obligations agreed in 2018-19 in England was £7bn. Comparatively, this is bigger than the annual public health grant but a small slice of the NHS budget. Contributions were secured across multiple categories including affordable housing, transport, environment and education items. There are regional variations. So this NIHR research seeks to understand the health and health inequality impacts of developer contributions, including:1️⃣ geographical distribution of developer contributions spend2️⃣ distribution of developer contributions across the different types of infrastructure (e.g. schools, green space)3️⃣ Community and public involvement in decisions around securing, spending and allocation of developer contributionsLook forward to see how this programme develops and results from funded research projects. #healthyplanning #spatialplanning #planningobligations

Great to attend the ‘Developing a Research Skilled Workforce Conference’ on Wednesday at Plymouth University.▫️A great event with delegates and speakers from around the South West, a wonderful opportunity to meet new people and discuss peoples individual journeys into research.▫️I personally found this an informative and motivating event, to better understand how individuals working in the health care profession, like myself can continue advanced post graduate research, within a clinical setting. The benefits to service development, service users, staff retention & professional fulfilment.#networking#healthcareprofessionalsinresearch#advancingpractice#servicedevelopment#professionaldevelopment#evidencedbasedpractice#dietetics#dietitian#cpd

Last week, we were privileged to participate in the Early Years Conference in Vancouver. We wanted to share three key learnings from the conference that we will focus on moving forward in Child and Youth! 🌟1️⃣ Experience the Power of #Integration: One standout takeaway from the conference was the transformative potential of integrated solutions like the Vitec Raisoft software. Our platform offers a comprehensive suite of tools, including standardized assessments like interRAI, streamlining processes, and enhancing the continuum of care for children, youth, and beyond. The power of integration enables professionals to focus more on delivering quality care and less on administrative tasks.2️⃣ Harnessing the Strength of #Digitilization: Another invaluable insight gained was the importance of digitalizing care processes and quality outcomes. With the right tools and research-based assessments at our disposal, we can effortlessly visualize and analyze data to better understand the evolving needs of the children and youth we serve. This ability to digitize assessment tools and planning enables us to support strategies more effectively, ultimately improving outcomes and fostering positive development.3️⃣ Embracing #Research and #Innovation: Lastly, the conference emphasized the critical role of research and innovation in driving progress within the early year's sector. By harnessing the interRAI standard and the latest research findings, Vitec Raisoft software can continuously enhance your practices and approaches. Embracing a culture of learning and innovation allows us to adapt to evolving challenges and better meet the needs of the diverse communities we serve.Overall, the Early Years conference provided valuable insights and opportunities for collaboration, reinforcing the importance of leveraging integrated solutions, digital tools, and a commitment to research and innovation in advancing the well-being of children and youth. One major finding that was interesting to learn about is the lack of services in #Indigenous Areas. From availability to funding, the conference opened new conversations about how software could help those looking to start the change.Let's continue learning, growing, and positively impacting together!#EarlyYears #ChildCare #YouthDevelopment #Innovation Shannon L. What an insightful experience at the Early Years Conference. The three key learnings highlighted below resonate deeply with our mission at Vitec Raisoft, and we're excited to prioritize them moving forward.#Integration truly stands out as a game-changer in delivering quality care efficiently, and our software is designed to streamline processes and enhance the continuum of care for children and youth. #Digitalization is another crucial aspect, enabling us to visualize outcomes effortlessly and support strategies effectively. Of course, #research and #innovation are at the core of what we do, and we continuously enhance our practices to serve diverse communities better. Also, if you want to explore how our software can support your organization, feel free to request a demo! #EarlyYears #ChildCare #YouthDevelopment #Innovation #CommunityImpact #interRAI

Last year, during one of our in-person team days, I hosted an activity to explore this article on #digital #inclusion as a social determinant of health. It situates all levels of digital literacy (access, skills, devices, training, support, and upward ) as now being CENTRAL to all other social determinants of health. What does this mean?***To access housing, food services, education, health care, employment, and banking, you now need to have computer and Wi-Fi access as well as internet searching and form completion skills. The digital divide is real, widening, and I see very little being done to close the ever-growing crevasse. (Pssst, you can't teach digital literacy to people online when they don't have access to Wi-Fi!)As a group, we used #liberatingstructures activities Think-Pair-Share and 25/10 Crowdsourcing to socially and actively explore and vote on our bold ideas for how our Virtual Health team could support digital inclusion. One of the TOP rated ideas was to do what was done back in the 1920's to allow public access to the telephone. Provide publicly available access to all, in public spaces. We are already seeing the library and community center access model emerge in the East coast of Canada...a human supporting the use of publicly available devices to access scheduled health care video visits.🦄 I challenge the innovators out there - are you interested in designing technology tools and solutions for the skilled few, or for all? 🦄 How might we pull inward at the edges of the digital divide to knit together digital access for those have been systematically denied the opportunity?#digitaltransformation #socialdeterminantsofhealth #accessibility https://lnkd.in/gJNXMnMn

Digital health literacy is here to improve health equity. When we talk about members who benefit from Carevocacy, we're talking about folks like Jośe, who are tech-curious and continue to redefine what learning looks like.He wanted to change his phone's language settings to Spanish so it's easier to navigate. This is what it means to meet people where they're at.I am so proud to have Tech Tutors like Ivonne support the lives of Conviva Care Center / Humana members.Digital health literacy is about breaking down the barriers to access - and that's what we do.#digitalhealthliteracy #digitalliteracy

Nine years ago today, we got our start as a small team at the White House with a simple, yet challenging mission: to deliver better government services to the American people through technology and design. We're celebrating this milestone with a look at 9 examples of programs we’ve worked on in close partnership with federal agencies to deliver government services that are more simple, seamless, and secure. Today’s project highlight is the 2022 Infant Formula Shortage. When the country experienced a historic and severe shortage of infant formula last summer, USDS jumped into action and partnered with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to create data systems and perform critical analysis. The impact for the public included: ◾ Operation Fly Formula effectively predicted needs for what should be brought into the country and then targeted formula deliveries nationwide ◾ The Department of Health and Human Services relaunched their formula homepage with more than 500K visits Over the years, we've partnered with more than 20 agencies to respond to crises like this and to help update, reimagine and transform government services for the better. That’s why we chose the Rubik's cube to represent #9YearsofUSDS. These puzzle cubes are complex, but solvable; each side has 9 squares; and teams often band together to solve them, just like the work we do here. Learn more about our projects from USDS Administrator Mina Hsiang in our anniversary blog post.
